The Allocation of Labor Expense ( ALE ) System is Labor Cost Accounting software. Its purpose is the processing of employee costs and automation of related tasks.
Key ALE (version 2.0) features include expense allocation, encumbrance posting, and the Time and Effort Approval system (see EARS).
Basically, ALE imports or generates expense detail. It then processes this detail through a series of business rules, the most visible of which are the salary allocation rules.
This allocation process is similar to standard allocations but has expanded functionality.
Although originally developed for the research sector, ALE can fit at any organization where employee costs make up a significant portion of total expense, and these costs are allocated across shifting cost centers.
By automating the complete payroll posting, ALE saves resources. By generating required journal entries, it eliminates manual errors. The powerful reporting tools add a new level of business intelligence.
Because of its modular design, ALE can be molded to fit the distinct needs of your organization. No two ALE installations are the same. Select the functionality you require:
Automated entries (Active Distributions)
Budget tools
Secure Web Report Distribution (Web Reporting)
Time and effort approval (see EARS)
Of course, every ALE transaction has a complete audit trail. Additionally, ALE has an integrated edit history.
